4. Mô tả môn học

Lý thuyết và đánh giá về đa dạng sinh học rừng, trên cơ sở phân tích đánh giá để đưa ra các biện pháp bảo tồn, các định hướng bảo tồn thiên nhiên và bảo tồn đa dạng sinh học trong lâm nghiệp.

The course provides theoretical background and assessment techniques for forest biodiversity in order to formulate nature and biodiversity conservation measures in forestry.

5. Mục tiêu môn học

Nhằm trang bị cho học viên nắm chắc lý thuyết và xử lý số liệu thu thập để có khả năng vận dụng nghiên cứu, đánh giá và bảo tồn đa dạng sinh học rừng vào thực tiễn.

- To explain concepts relating to forest biodiversity and its relations with ecosystem functions; including biodiversity centers, forest values and threats from climate change;

- To discuss current situation of forest biodiversity loss and its causes, particularly in Asia and Vietnam;

- To present current forest conservation strategy (its objectives and rationales, conventions and socio-economic benefits);

- To adapt biodiversity survey and assessment techniques at genetic, population, ecosystem abd landscape levels.

- To use quantitative indicators and to apply several relevant softwares for the calculation of these indicators.
