1955:

Establishment of Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City.

August 11th, 1995

The Department of Agricutlural Preservation and Food Processing was established at Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City regarding to the Decision No. 5435/KHTC of the Ministry of Education and Training. 

December 27th, 1996

Decision of the President of Nong Lam University on the establishment of the Department of Agricutlural Preservation and Food Processing and the approved Decision of first student enrollment. 

February 24th,1997

The Faculty was introduced with a variety of programs as processing of seafood, livestock industry, post-harvest technology, vegetables and agro-products. 

December 15th, 2000

The Minister of Education and Training issued Decision No. 5543/QD-BGD&DT-TCCB to establish the Faculty of Food Science and Technology on the foundation of the Department of Preservation and Processing of Agricultural & Food Products.

July 07th, 2004

The Department of Chemical Engineer and Processing was established under the Decision No. 945/QD-TCHC of the President of the Nong Lam University – Ho Chi Minh City. 

November 22nd, 2004

Establishment of a Department of Preservation and Processing of Agricultural & Food Products and Human Nutrition.

December 16th, 2005

Establishment of a Department of Preservation and Processing of Agricultural & Food Products and Food Microbiology.

2008:

Establishment of an Advanced Program of Food Technology for Bachelor Degree under the collaboration between Nong Lam University – Ho Chi Minh City and the University of California Davis, USA - a strategic program development and implementation partner. The program was approved and granted by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

August 20th, 2009

Establishment of a Master Program of Food Technology.

April 17st2015 Establishment of a Master Program of Chemical Engineering.

October 21st, 2015

 Establishment of a High Quality Program of Food Technology for Bachelor Degree.

August 29th, 2016

Establishment of a Doctor of Philosophy Program of Food Technology.

 

February 24th, 2021

The Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology was established from combination of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology and the Department of Chemical Engineer and Processing under Decision No. 462/QD-ĐHNL-TCCB of the Nong Lam’s President.
